Double Page Spread Draft 2

How I air brushed my front cover model!

In order to make my magazine look professional, I needed a model who was air-brushed
and look genuine.

I started with a simple image of Adam.

I selected the area that I would use for my magazine, this image is for the front cover, so I will be focusing on his face.

The first step was to remove the majority of spots using the 'Spot Removal Tool.'

This is the result.

Afterwards, I selected his face (all the visible skin.)

And I duplicated it, creating another layer to work on.

I blurred this layer using the 'Gaussian Blur' tool...

... I didn't make it took blurry, otherwise you would not be able to make out the face.

The eyes and mouth are also blurred so to make them clear, I rubbed them out on the blurry layer so the clear eyes and mouth are now visible.

Once the eyes are clear, the rest of the face is too blurry, so I lowered the opacity so the layer underneath is more visible.

The next step I did was to remove all the spots via painting the skin. To make sure I had the right colour, I used the 'Eyedrop Tool' to copy the colour, I then began to paint.

On the blurry layer, I blended it on to the clear layer using the 'Overlay' blending effect, this made Adam look a bit more tanned than usual.

Moving on to the eyes, I selected the colour of his eyes using the 'Quick Selection Tool'

I made the eyes look a more vibrant colour by change the 'Colour Balance...'

...Since Adam is green-eyed I made his eyes a much brighter green, this makes them look more appealing.

After air-brushing Adam's face, decided to work on the background, firstly I removed it all, making Adam's face and shoulders the only part of the image, however, this left the image of Adam looking rough around the edges. To remove this, I used the blur tool around the edge to make it seem more natural.

This was my result.

Finally, the image was ready to be placed in my magazine.

Here it is on my front cover!
